You can now travel from Uttara to Motijheel in just 38 minutes for Tk100 using Metro Rail

On Saturday, PM Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail service from Agargaon to Motijheel, the capital’s commercial district. The PM traveled to Motijheel from metro rail’s Agargaon station to mark the operation of this new section. This increases the country’s first metro rail’s service area from Uttara to Motijheel.

The Uttara to Agargaon section of the metro rail was inaugurated by the PM on December 28. The Agargaon-Motijheel section of the metro rail system will commence operations for a duration of four hours, stopping at three stations: Farmgate, Secretariat, and Motijheel. The remaining terminals will be gradually operationalized, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) representatives said. Additionally, Sheikh Hasina commenced construction of the MRT Northern route on Saturday. As of Sunday, commuters can travel to Motijheel from Agargaon between 7:30 am and 11:30 am.
