Time bomb found in bus headed to Cox’s Bazar, defused in 3 hours

On the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Mouchak, Narayanganj, a time bomb was found in a bus going to Cox’s Bazar. At 10:30 PM, on January 5, the bomb was found in a Bengal Paribahan sleeper bus.

The counter-terrorism unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police carried out an operation and proved that the object was a time bomb. Around 1:30 AM, the bomb was taken out. Superintendent of Police for the District Golam Mostafa Russell said that the bomb had a timer in it, and if it wasn’t found at the right time, it could have done a lot of damage.

Mohammed Hasan, the bus driver, saw what looked like a bomb behind a seat and called the cops at 999. That seat was taken by someone who got on the bus from Gabtali and heard about the bomb, which made everyone get off the bus. Police officer Abu Bakkar Siddique, who is in charge of the Siddhirganj station, stated that the bomb was defused and that the legal process is now underway.
