14 fire incidents in just 16 hours since Friday

Four people were killed in at least 14 fires across the country between 6 PM on January 5 and 10 AM on January 6 (16 hours). The fires destroyed 6 cars and 9 buildings. Stats from the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) show that five of the events happened in Dhaka Division.

The stats show that 5 in Dhaka Division (Dhaka City 1, Narayanganj 1, Gazipur Sadar 2, Kaliakair 1), 2 fires broke out in Sylhet division (South Sylhet, Chunarughat), 4 in Chittagong Division (Ramu 1, Feni 1, Sitakund 1, Chittagong City 1), 3 in Mymensingh Division (Nandail 1, Gafargaon 1, Sherpur 1).

According to the stats, 1 train (4 coaches), 2 pickups, 1 truck, 2 covered vans, 1 Buddhist temple, and 8 educational institutions were set on fire in these incidents.

32 units of Fire Service and Civil Defence and 151 personnel were engaged to put out the fire.
