Woman gives birth to quintuplets in DMCH

Ruma Akter, a 26-year-old woman from Sadar upazila of Chandpur district, gave birth to five children at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. She is the wife of Shahid Molla, a Bangladeshi expatriate in Saudi. Dr. Nazma Haque, head of the gyno department at DMCH, cared for the births, but one daughter died during delivery.

DMCH director, Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, shared that after eight years of waiting, the couple has been blessed with quintuplets. Ruma was admitted with labour pain and the babies were placed in the NICU due to being underweight. All necessary assistance will be provided for the treatment of the four children.
