The EC cancelled the candidacy of ruling Awami League candidate from Chattogram-16 (Banshkhali) Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury. The action was taken against him because he threatened police, said EC Secretary Jahangir Alam.
The returning officer said that if EC cancels the candidacy of a candidate, the election will be held among the other contesting candidates of the relevant constituency.
