Elon Musk has hired a 14-year-old “wonder kid” as a SpaceX software engineer.
Kairan Quazi will join the billionaire’s organization after graduating from Santa Clara University in California later this month with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering.
The adolescent has already completed an internship at Intel and will be part of SpaceX’s Starlink team, which is constructing the world’s largest satellite internet network.
“I will be joining the coolest company on the planet as a software engineer on the Starlink engineering team,” he announced last week on LinkedIn.
“One of the few companies that did not rely on my age as an arbitrary and out-of-date proxy for maturity and ability.”
His LinkedIn profile has now been deleted since members must be at least 16 years old to join the professional networking site.
In a response to the ban, Quazi wrote on Instagram that his removal from the network was “illogical, primitive nonsense” that amounted to discrimination.
