In the 12th Jatiya Sangsad elections, Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury was chosen as a Member of Parliament from the Chittagong-9 constituency. He is now the Minister of Education. The news came out in a press statement on Thursday (January 11) from the Ministry of Cabinet Division. Following his success in the 2018 general elections, Mohibul, who was a member of the Awami League, became the State Minister of Education on January 7, 2019.
He is the oldest son of former Chittagong Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and a new minister. He is a lawyer and a member of the Dhaka Bar. He is also a part of the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In the most current parliamentary elections, which were held on January 7, Mohibul won the Chittagong-9 seat with 130,993 votes. Sanjida Rashid Chowdhury of the National Party (Langal), who was his closest competitor, got 1,982 votes.
Since the new government took office, Dr. Dipu Moni, who was previously Minister of Education, has been given the job of Minister of Social Welfare.
