The government is giving property owners who produce rooftop gardens in city corporations and municipal districts around the country a 10% tax break.

On Wednesday, Local Government Minister Tazul Islam unveiled the idea at the secretariat and stated that a circular will be released within a week.

He informed reporters that the Dhaka North City Corporation had earlier asked to the ministry for a 10% refund for rooftop gardening.

With this in mind, Tajul reports that the administration has decided to extend the discount to all city corporations and municipal districts in the country.
