In a press briefing at the Election Commission, CEC Kazi Habibul Awal said that the average voter turnout across the country is 40 percent.
He said, “Can’t say for sure, but about 40 percent of votes have been cast. This is reliable information so far. But when the counting of votes is over, it may vary a little.”
Although the CEC initially said the voter turnout was 28 percent. Later, the secretary corrected him and said it will be 40 percent or more.
“We have tried to stop election violence and irregularities. But in the end, for various reasons we couldn’t fully succeed.”
