In a center of Kalyanpur Girls School and College in Dhaka-14 Constituency, the signatures of the agents on the result sheet (result statement) have been kept before the voting ended. After the counting of votes, the result is declared on the result sheet signed by the agent of each candidate. The workers of Sabina Akhter Tuhin, an independent candidate of that seat, alleged that the vote could be rigged by taking signatures in advance on the empty form.
Awami League’s candidate for the seat is Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hasan Khan (Nikhil). There are 10 polling stations in Kalyanpur Girls School and College.
Independent candidate Sabina Akhtar went to the place where the news of signing had spread earlier on Sunday afternoon. He told reporters, “I don’t know which candidate the presiding officer did this for.”
Later, when the presiding officer Gopal Chandra Das was approached, he refused to speak to Prothom Alo about the matter.
